Overview: The Harvest Hay River project is a winter-only construction project in Northeastern BC. Due to the limited construction period, pre-fabbing is utilitized as much as possible. Construction includes multi-well pads, tie-in sites, infill well sites, and pipelines, as well as packaged equipment including test separators, chemical injection skids, and instrument air compressors.
Crimtech responsibilities included:
- All mechanical and structural designs for the various sites and pipelines; approximately 1000 P&ID, Plot Plan, line schedule, piping, and structural drawings were issued for construction
- bid package preparation and evaluation for all major contracts, including packaged equipment and instrumentation
- all pipeline and facility regulatory work
- coordination with electrical engineering contractor
- site construction supervisor(s) coordination

Service: Incinerator Replacement Evaluation
Area(s): Joffre
Overview: The CO2 flood battery has a glycol dehydration unit and an incinerator. Crimtech simulated the process, and recommended installing an atmospheric condensing unit and catch tank. The unit allowed Penn West to shut-in the incinerator, reducing emissions and saving fuel gas.

Management of Change (MOC) Reviews

Overview: Crimtech has completed approximately 1500 MOC reviews for Conoco over the past eight years. Crimtech receives MOC review requests for proposed piping and mechanical changes from Conoco. The MOC reviews are completed on a timely basis; turnaround time and cost are monitored. The scope of work also included developing standard MOC’s for routine changes.

Flare and Vent Studies

Service: Flare and Vent Studies
Area(s): Southern Alberta
Overview: Crimtech goes to the site, takes piping / vessel measurements and operating data, then along with the gas analyses calculates the associated flare and vent volumes for various flare and venting scenarios. The results, data used, assumptions / methodology, and flare schematic are summarized in booklet form and sent to the client. Crimtech has completed flare and vent studies for over 100 facilities.
